Following several years of working in partnership with Oxford City Council, David Simmonds has continued to support the Council’s property and asset management requirements as part of its Assets Team.

Recent work has included detailed surveys of three key pavilions at Cutteslowe Park and Sunnymead: the Upper Sports Pavilion, Lower Sports Pavilion and Bowls Pavilion as well as the Cities Park & Ride buildings.

Whilst we survey building conditions and any structural aspects that we can see visually on a HRRB our fire risk survey is FRA V4, often the inspection also involves HHSRS.

We can appoint a Fire Risk Officer/Specialist to attend the site for a separate survey assessment and further investigations. In and obvious fire risk situation such as communal doors being blocked or an item blocking fire/exits/vandalised apparatus we will report these matters to the relevant parties involved. Where appropriate in any HRRB we will appoint or recommend a structural engineer if we see a potential issue involving the buildings fabric/material make up, but expressly state we are not responsible for any action needed to resolve any subsequent issues.

David Simmonds Building Solutions and David Simmonds Surveyor has many years hands on building and construction work experience as well as qualifications. He demonstrates is knowledge and attention to detail when surveying a property. His report and findings give details of a buildings condition and can be as complex as a level 3 RICS survey or rolled out as a simple stock condition survey.

Any survey is a set of notable conditions and observations of a buildings condition. Some surveying may incur a slightly invasive procedure if this is required this will be conducted with a highly experienced tradesman with the surveyor present. All surveying is not an acceptance of legal responsibility if the surveyor has missed areas that could not be seen by a visual inspection or specialist inspection.
